The first event, a Victoria Police information session at Melbourne Grand Masjid on Friday 30 June 2023 marked a historic moment for Australia. For the first time ever, a police department conducted a recruitment presentation at a Masjid.
The positive response from the community was overwhelming, contributing to a perceptual shift among the masses. Notably, the session witnessed significant interest from females aspiring to join the police force.
This collaboration between ACDP and Victoria Police is set to continue, benefiting both organisations by filling their ranks with competent talent who may have otherwise pursued different career paths.
On the day, almost 2,000 families received information flyers, reflecting the genuine interest and engagement within the community.
Further amplifying their efforts, ACDP hosted an information stall at the Eid Fest held at MGM (Melbourne Grand Masjid) on Sunday 9 July 2023. This grand event saw over 10,000 attendees, including several councillors, state and federal MPs.
ACDP expanded their focus beyond Victoria Police, providing valuable information across other domains as well. With the presence of knowledgeable and professional representatives from Victoria Police, the public’s enthusiasm was met with patience and expertise. This event not only celebrated the spirit of Eid but also fostered connections, understanding, and harmony among diverse communities.
